Paint Correction:

Paint correction is basically returning the paint work on your car to as close to new as possible. The quality of results will depend on the condition, colour and age of your car.

There are some basic steps we take take to achieve the best results:

  • Rinse the exterior of your car with a pressure washer to remove debris and surface dirt.
  • We then cover your car in a blanket of foam, this sits for around 5 mins, pulling the dirt off.
  • Another rinse to further remove surface dirt and foam.

It's at this stage we start to work on the paint itself.

  • We remove the black tar spots around the bottom of your car using a product called Tardis
  • Using a lubricant spray and a bar of clay, we "clay bar" your car. This is a special clay material that is rubbed by hand over your car to remove microscopic dirt particles, tree sap, overspray and generally the dirt the eye cannot see. This will make your body work feel as smooth as glass.
  • Another rinse to remove clay residue.
  • We now dry your car using Microfibre towels to ensure no new contamination is put onto the bodywork.

Now that your car is clean and dry, we can start to machine polish the paint to bring back that high gloss finish.

  • We use a Meguiars G220 Dual action polishing machine because it gives us complete control over speed and position. By using a mixture of 3 different polishes and a variety of pads, we are able to remove swirl marks, light scratches, bird lime scars etc. This is the time consuming part. By working on one panel at a time, the whole process can take up to 10 hours. Depending on the finish you are after and the service you have bought, it could even roll into 2 days work.

Prices are from £160 and include a full valet.

The above is not a complete guide to the whole process but is meant to give you an idea of what is involved. Give us a call and we will come and look at your car and discuss what is possible on your specific car. 01202-667137
